What I didn't know then, that I do know now is that was the last Youtube video. As of today, they deleted it and I got a copyright strike. This is first video I've ever had that was removed. Like I said last time, most of my other videos have copyright claims and are monetized by the claimants. What it boils down to is the company that really has the rights can't compete with the stuff that I do. It's a testament in itself (Why Can't We Defeat Shaolin Temple?) that they really felt the sting from this one and had to kill it in the crib. On an equal playing field... things like... "end fights," showdowns, the 5 best this, or the top 10 that are not going to beat any hard hitting compilation that I do. That stuff is old hat. I'm not even trying to compete with anybody.

I'm just a creative guy and what I did was just creative expression. Youtube being what it is everything gets dislikes. But I'm sure that most of my dislikes stemmed from non-creative people. This is unrelated as to why the video got deleted, but it's something I wanted to speak on. These movies are 30 and 40 years old. We've seen them 100's of times. As deep as I am into these hobbies, I don't actually WATCH the films because I'm so inundated in them that I can't actually enjoy them as they were meant to be (unless it's a different genre of Shaw Bros). I'm not here to bring you the same thing for the 101st time... the 210th time... or the 36th time!

I have this style of editing because that's what I need personally... I need to see the best parts, the most dramatic parts, the most graphic scenes, to enjoy it. Otherwise, my tolerance is too high. At the same time, I can watch Shaw films that the average kungfu fan couldn't stand, because all they know is that kungfu genre. So non-creative people see my work as something "other" but not in a good way and that has always been fine with me. And it's funny to me that in centuries past... creativity was seen as something evil. Well so be it. If anything I think the opposite is true... the refusal... the denunciation of creativity is what's truly evil. What was dangerous then and just as much now is that you don't have to follow someone else's program/ing if you're creative.

So they deleted that one video (Why Can't We Defeat Shaolin Temple?), I have one that's banned in about 20 countries (Venoms Mob Hits), and one that's banned worldwide (What Up My Ninja!?). I'm not doing any more. I guess that's good timing. I covered everything that was important to me. Anything more would be for the community. The compilations are something I bring to the table based on my experience and my taste level. I can't just jump into the Ocean Shores or the Golden Harvest library and do stuff just as good because I haven't grown with those companies. Maybe it would look good, but it would lack that authenticity. It sounds arrogant, but if I didn't do those videos no one else was going to. It's something I dreamed about since I was a child. So even if it was just for a few years. I got to realize a small piece of my dream.

As for my channel... "Hrangue" (ie. my artist persona) what's to stop it from being deleted? Nothing. Enjoy what you can while you can. Anyone looking to discuss this further contact me at hrangue@gmail.com.

-PS- I also understand that business is business. Youtube is enforcing copyright laws for a country that has never had an iota of respect for anything copyrighted. It wouldn't surprise me if all my stuff was re-uploaded on Chinese youtube.Hranguehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12161409021859688113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7734480456467629666.post-72257420004868656082018-04-28T23:09:00.000-04:002018-04-29T16:49:51.085-04:00Youtube - Shaw Brothers Custom KungfuAs I've mentioned before I've been doing Youtube for a few years now. And by that I mean I posted my first video a few years ago. I don't actually use it as a business, try to monetize it, or even make it my main thing, but it's something I like to do.

All this time I think the music library was leading up to the videos. It just took some time for things to fall into place and then out of place. What do I mean? If you know anything about the creator side of Youtube then you know that the algorithms were really shaken up and there are some very shady statements out there made by Youtube employees.

What tanked my channel?

Subscriptions not being enough...

People had to hit the bell in order to be notified. The shady video I mention is Youtube employees admitting to cherry picking (somehow) whether subscribers receive notifications and Youtube itself notifying people of content they had not hit the bell on... contradictory all the way around.

What does this mean for me? Well, other than my own recreation I'm not getting anything out of it. I love making the videos... I really do. And it seems like enough. It's not sustainable. Every video gets a copyright claim because hey... these aren't my movies. I just want people to see my creative expression on these as a purist old-school dyed in the wool fan. But even that is a struggle. I have 1 video that is close to a million views if not already. I think it is an example of when the system works as intended. And I have a few with 100K+ views.

But since that update, everything I've done (increasing in quality and attention each time) is dead on arrival. However, for nearly 1 million views on "Slept On Boss Fights" (which has knock-offs by the way... biters) new Shaw Bros fans are being born. I think just like the music, things will run their course... but in a much shorter time. Yeah I have a small following solely on Youtube and I don't want to let people down, but I can't see doing more than 2 more videos. I'm honestly just making the videos that I would like to see. I'm not driving traffic and spamming communities with my links. I don't believe in that. I think the content should speak for itself. I don't want to accept anything from anyone who may be a supporter (ie. Patreon) unless they feel so touched and so generous because I don't want to be beholden to making content any longer than I'd want to.

On the plus side, once the work is done... it's done. So if a better platform comes along several years from now I can put all of my videos right back up.

Hah, I can't imagine anyone would read this, but I don't use social media otherwise.

So if you like what we did with Xihong Library then watch and like my videos on Youtube starting with my last 2 projects... Why Can't We Defeat Shaolin Temple and Venoms Mob Hits (still banned in like 20 countries).Hranguehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12161409021859688113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7734480456467629666.post-72768357579024221412018-04-28T22:26:00.000-04:002018-05-01T14:20:15.109-04:00Last Hurrah for the Cold Blooded Eagles
Last Hurrah for the Cold Blooded Eagles...

And we come to a close. This is the final volume. There have been several times when I thought it was the final volume, but we kept moving forward. The only reason we've gotten this far is because of my partner in Germany. Kungfu Music Master Übermensch, Klaus, continues the effort! We'll still be working together on this hobby, but there won't be any further updates.

If you've been around for some time then you already understand. It's been 10 years now! Look at how much music we've found. How much more do you need? Through so many highs and lows, I've found just about every cue that I wanted... even my MOST WANTED ELUSIVE CUE from day one! And that one in particular is thanks to my main man Übermensch to the end, Klaus. Like they say... "there are no more secrets for Shaolin." Including this volume we're clocking in at a bit under 3,000 tracks. I don't know how many movies. I haven't counted. Otherwise, you'll understand that this volume contains cues from the far reaches of the Shaw Bros galaxy.

I | II | III | IV

But as a hobby, we've conquered this thing. We've mastered it. There's no victory lap, or party, or fanfare at the end of this. I thought what special thing could I do to mark this final volume. I've got nothing. The process was its own reward. The whole music blogging scene is long gone. I know the community is still around in other forms, but it was always important to me to keep my content on my own soil.

I've always helped out people who have contacted me directly. Since this is the end, I will continue to help. What I've learned from doing my Youtube channel (which I'll make a follow-up post about) a few years is that new people really are getting into this stuff. I suppose anyone still checking this blog my be hardcore devout. Anyway, "helping people" means I don't mind sharing a few specific movies worth of files that I already have. Reach me at hrangue@gmail.com

Our later releases have really been piecemeal, but here's an example of a flushed out "foundtrack"

What it doesn't mean is me watching random movies I've never seen before and looking for music that you are interested in. NO. I don't mind checking a quick clip or quick scene and giving a yes or no (I have it, I don't have it)... but remember it's been 10 years of us scouring these films. This didn't happen overnight.

There's no proper thank you list that I have, but I'll say that I'm grateful to the following people/places who have either contributed directly and indirectly and those who have inspired me otherwise:

Black Eagle "Chik Ming Klaus"
Killa The Librarian (my brother in music)
Mr. T
H2O
M.Y.
David the Slayer
ITK1000
Self Science
Fraykerbreaks
Agent Double
Trizkbrki
Elitefunk
Lakis
DJ Mike
Your Pal Doug
Paul Durango
Franklynot
Sleazy Listening
Kungfu Fandom
And anyone else whose name escapes me right now...

I was originally inspired by Paul Nice. We didn't get on (and not because of me), but it was a little compilation of his posted on Kungfu Fandom way back that let me know that this was even possible.

Yeah, there are still some tracks that I haven't found or some albums I want (and I'm sure Klaus too), but it's just not that serious. I don't keep a want list or anything either although I have listed a few requests. If you are feeling so generous... contact me at hrangue@gmail.com. I'm still into the funky and dramatic music, but if I had to add a 3rd wheel it would be 70's-80's electronica. And above all else... Italian. Thanks again everyone.Hranguehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12161409021859688113noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7734480456467629666.post-42405343968953718062017-01-07T17:21:00.000-05:002017-01-08T14:04:58.771-05:00Xihong Library 2016 - Shaw Brothers MusicI'm not sure who's still around, but I'm back... we're back with a new volume of Xihong Library. We're 9 years into this. I can't let all the glory go to Klaus, but he can have most of it. Maybe we need a reintroduction?

Hrangue @ Hatembargo was a music blog consisting of compilations... funky and dramatic but I became best known for Yu Xihong's Shaw Brothers Music Library (Xihong Library). Things were slow at first, but I put the work in along with the time and a lot of money. I'm not so much into collecting vinyl these days. I sold half my collection, but I still have some true to the game favorites. I crossed over into doing Shaw Bros kungfu vid compilations on youtube. My computer is out of commission at the moment so I'm on break from that, but it's still the music that drives my passion to make the videos. Like, subscribe, comment! youtube.com/hrangue

A few years in, I was contacted by a guy from Germany... Klaus. He wanted to hear a particular LP that I had found a really important Shaolin cue on. I really took some convincing because we (the community
'08-'12) did a lot of sharing on the blogs, there was a lot of secrecy behind the scenes... and some shadyness. I took a chance on him and sent it (ahem... sent a rar) and came to find out we were a perfect match. He has the movies and I have the music... or I know people who have the music. I can tip my hat and acknowledge Klaus as a true expert on ID-ing this music. I'll say it again. I would've been done with this a few years ago if not for him. We're both dedicated and determined, but I'm more motivated by finding the real hard-hitting sounds while I'd say Chik Ming Klaus is more of a completionist-- leaving no stone unturned... hunting down every last track... to the death!

Is it even possible to have something big planned for the 10th year anniversary of Xihong Library? Roughly 2700 tracks and 11GB+ of Shaw Bros music is where we're at now. We'll go on as long as we can. The more we find, the harder it becomes to find even more. Through the years I've had some great support and made some great trades. Hah, maybe I'll thank everyone for the 10 year celebration. But for this year and the past couple I thank Killa the Librarian (my long lost brother in music) and M.Y. (the secret weapon from Japan).

Last, it's been a long time, but I'll make a few requests in case anyone so inclined is reading. hrangue@gmail.com
It seems I say the same thing every year and I thank the same people... well it's true and I'll say it again. Thanks Klaus (Shaw Bros music identifying machine!), Killa (just havin my back on the music tip), M.Y. (for laying the foundation for future findings). This body of work wouldn't be what it is without these guys.

To my surprise, most of my links are dead. Ah well, I hope people got what they could get. This is really an outdated system now, but it is what it is. May the files live on...

Enjoy. Merry Christmas. Otherwise, happy holidays!
We used to trade these joints thru the mail back when I was in college 10+ years ago and I'd scoop them up almost everywhere I could find them... online, on the aves, the stands, from the backpackers, and sometimes directly from the artists themselves.

As far as I remember, Crime Family was Bumpy Johnson, Stacks, Legal, Chops, and Rucie. They did alot collabs with Major Figgas. It's funny, they have a few skits on volume 4 about haters and this product they sell called "Hate Block." That's basically the name of my blog... Hate-mbargo (stop hatin ...hate stoppage).
I'm not just about the music. I've made a few Shaw Bros video compilations. This is my latest and it's the one that "didn't make it" onto youtube. There really hasn't been a better alternative so I'll just share it here. It's an hour long (1.5GB) and I put a lot of work into it... too much for it not to be seen.

What Up My Ninja!? is basically a loose telling of Japan vs China through the lens and talents of the Shaws.

If you're a fan of the Venoms, be sure to check out my Lu Feng video too. And here's my page. Of course there's a Xihong video! These were strictly a labor of love... sometimes I think it would've been my dream job to be editor and sound guy for these. And it's not as though many of them need changing.

Last, if you've liked all the Xihong Library we've put together over the years... you'll definitely appreciate these vids for the music. Subscribe if you like them.
I've been so busy lately that I'm releasing my new Shaw Bros volume in the new year. The vast majority of this drop was compiled by my main man in Germany... Klaus (aka Chik Ming Klaus)... ie. "The main thing is to stay alive..."

I don't have the time like I used to... to really dig deep on these movies. We've found so much that most of my resources have been exhausted as far as the music and the films. Klaus picked it up a couple of years ago and has done a great service to the collection both as a compiler and an archivist. To refresh your memories, Klaus has MOST of the movies... at least 100 or 200 that I haven't seen, but I have the music or connects to the music.

Are we done?

No. BUT, it gets harder and harder as time goes on.

I offer a special thanks again to M.Y. in Japan for his super rare source findings. And I'd like to thank everyone who still keeps the library community alive (Killa, Retronic, the library forum, DJ Marcellus Wallace, and anyone still sharing the heat). If you're new to the music, the "community," or the films... know that I've long paid my dues and that I'm just doing this out of love. Enjoy.
No news is good news! We've been working on this mammoth, massive, gargantuan, record breaking volume for a whole year. By sheer attrition, most of the credit goes to Klaus... my compiling partner in Germany. And an especially big thanks to my man M.Y. in Japan. Also, I'd like to thank long time contributor Killa, old friend Trkizbrki, and the great Fslmy. A word of caution... new converts are born everyday. Whether you just converted to kungfu music, library music, or even soundtracks in general know that this is my 3rd and likely final rebirth. I have the music and I have the connections. It's not really about me. Hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars have gone into finding these things... on my behalf and on the behalves of others in what's left of the community I say do your best diligence in learning what you can about this music.

It's back and repackaged with a new cover. These are my digital illustrations. I intended to make the whole Big Fire, but never got around to it. Just like the original mix, these were lost in a computer crash. When I redid them they came out much better than the originals. Mind you this is from a couple of years ago. I can do even much better than these now.
Also, I'm glad to see there are still some GR fans out there.

What can I say? The Black Eagle is always putting work in. He leaves me no choice, but to step my game up. So again, most of the credit goes to Klau Chu. He has been on a roll for months! I just started finding stuff within the past few weeks. A while ago, I was fortunate to have a chat with a vinyl dealer and he was kind enough to include audio samples of his LP "Speciale TG" by Giacomo Dell'Orso. My main question for him was whether my cue... the same one I'd been looking for since day 1 was on there. And of course, he said no. Why do the Shaw Bros taunt me so!? But still, another one of my most wanted cues is one of the samples he provided. It really eased my mind to find it. I'll get a hold of the vinyl eventually as I plan to re-enter the vinyl game some time. Hopefully this new job works out.

As always, I've unearthed some secrets. I've been saying in almost every post how the Italians have fooled me. I'm starting to think maybe it's not Italian! In this new batch of Xihong Library I've found a pattern that didn't make sense before. I'm gonna break it down in my expert opinion. There are 3 ways I go about connecting the dots.

1. What style is it? I figure out from where and when a sound comes from and to the best of my know-how what instruments are used. (ie. Italian mid-70's concrete drama... dark synth, drums, electro chords, and sharp strings)

2. What family is it from? It's good to find the family, but finding the correct member of the family doesn't usually solve the mystery. (Morricone? Nicolai? Peguri? De Luca? Chimenti? Fidenco? etc.) They cross labels many times.

3. What else has that member of the family composed? (ie. how many children do they have?) This is usually where I get caught up. No matter how much I "find" there's always something I don't know about.

So let me explain my latest revelation...

I keep finding good stuff from the Italian family (RCA). The members sound very much alike for the span of 15+ years, but at some point during the end I find people from the Japanese and Australian families that pull off the same sound. I've turned my brain to mush many times trying to figure this out. And THEN I skimmed Clan Feuds and for the first time I found a child to go along with the parent. For years, I've been guessing and I've been WRONG. So... LISTEN HERE and I will connect the dots. Compare the 1st 2 clips with the 2nd 2 (Clan Feuds then Heroes Shed No Tears). It's all there! Yasushi Akutagawa did Village of the 8 Gravestones. Brian May did Mad Max and Pino Donaggio did Tourist Trap all around the same time and on the same label (all Shaw Bros music). The new child is in Akutagawa's style for 8 Graves. Without a doubt. Without hearing the 2 together I was in the dark. The closest thing is Morricone's Fraulein Doktor (@1:03). In my years of listening that is the only 1 that comes close. Still not close enough. The problem is that whatever LP/OST Akutagawa did is still unknown. The cue debuted in 78 at the earliest (I used to think it was 76). I actually got caught up for an hour while typing this post just... connecting dots. I've ended up here. Nichiren! It's Akutagawa. It's 1978. It's unheard of. Any word on that? It's possibly from 1979 too and that would ruin everything.

So what else? Bosworth Library is Shaw Bros Music. Imagine that. Anything you could find casually on the net or SLSK... I have it. If anyone has any under the radar Bosworth drama LPs feel free to contact me. I'm particularly interested in Wilfred Burns.

And a special thanks to my main man Killa. Many cats have come and gone, but he still has my back after all this time. Hranguehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12161409021859688113noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7734480456467629666.post-91290528486479429442012-02-03T20:26:00.005-05:002013-01-24T09:16:49.675-05:00A Re-turn for the Worst

A Re-turn for the Worst

This is actually a re-up of the 2008 original. It was a great time of discovery for Shaw Bros music... it's actually when I first starting posting it. This was the first compilation that I really had Shaw Bros music weaved into. I didn't even know all of the original track names. That's why it's "Eric Towren" heavy near the beginning. It was originally formatted to fit on a CD, but no longer. I've replaced a number of the tracks with better quality rips. My "5 faves" that I used to highlight back in the day are quite different now even though this is the same mix.

It's one of my absolute favorites because much of this is music that I grew up with rather than the stuff that I've come to love over the past 4 or 5 years. And towards the end of last year I was actually thinking of doing a new volume. Just as moody... just as sinister... just as uneasy. I want to do uneasy listening JUSTICE! If you trust my ear, maybe I can make it happen.

I won't tell you who he is if you don't know already, but the guy on the cover is the perfect example of your worst nightmare coming back on you. Kudos to you if you know who it is, but there's no music from that film on this comp.

Otherwise... enjoy.Hranguehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12161409021859688113noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7734480456467629666.post-9197358748784736802011-12-27T20:14:00.001-05:002012-07-22T11:41:52.484-04:00Xihong Library - Black Eagle Chik Ming Klaus!

This volume had very little to do with me. Much of it is compiled by the "Black Eagle" ...Chik Ming Klaus (from the German branch of Iron Boat) who also contributed a great deal to the previous volume too. However obscure some of these movies seem, they are indeed Shaw and you may never hear them otherwise. Klaus is a great complement to my efforts. Not to mention, I give the utmost thanks to my Secret Santa for his RCA contributions. The future of Xihong Library has always been uncertain, but this year has been quite productive. Many secrets have been unveiled as of late. The big mystery is still the Japanese stuff. I had a "connect" out there, but haven't heard from him in some time. From what I remember... they're bad about releasing OSTs and they didn't keep library. I hope it's not lost forever.

As always, I couldn't have imagined a few years ago that it would get this big. I say that almost every time if you've been keeping up with the posts rather than the MF folder. What's exciting about it is that I don't even release a volume until I get tired of it. That's when the search begins for the next.

Here's my new list of requests. The more I hear, the less I know and given what I've heard even I feel like a newborn baby at this... at times. The Italians have fooled me many times over and each time I gain a bit more respect for them.

ARC ALSP 11017 - 1969 - La Conquista Di Luna [Luciano Michelini]

<strike>RCA SP 10052 - 197? - Cronache Dal Mondo [Lamartine]</strike>
RCA SP 10060 - 1975 - Fluid Trasparency [Henry Simpson And His Orchestra]
RCA SP 10068 - 1977 - Equinox [Gianni Marchetti]

BTW, still missing THAT track... you know... that "one."

-PS- I crack up every time I upload a new volume. Somebody out there is lightning fast in getting the files. That's a real fan I tell you.Hranguehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12161409021859688113noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7734480456467629666.post-91270851763030554612011-09-07T03:30:00.003-04:002011-09-13T12:45:30.709-04:00Xihong Library - The 218 RelicsEven though Xihong has been gone for what seems like an eternity already, they just couldn't let him be. I don't really want to get into how much work has gone into this, but if you want more then perhaps someone can fulfill these requests:

VA - RCA SP 10007 - Drammatici E Musiche Di Tensione Psicologica No4
VA - RCA SP 10008 - Drammatici E Musiche Di Tensione Psicologica No5
Romolo Grano - RCA SP 8004 - Ca Ira Il Fiume Della Rivolta
Teo Usuelli - RCA SP 8011 - La Suora Giovane
Antonio Riccardo Luciani - RCA SP 10056 - Musica Arcaica
Pierre Arvay - DWLP 3152 - Illustrations No7

Other than that, I'm still missing 1 cue. ONE... that is very important to me. Will I have it ever? I think it's on Musica Arcaica (an almost unheard of LP). The Grano stuff is certified hardcore Shaw Bros music I've actually seen the movie (doc).
-PS- I've hidden an easter egg (or 2) somewhere in this comp. I wonder if you'll notice them.Hranguehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12161409021859688113noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7734480456467629666.post-74078991104899525732010-10-30T11:05:00.000-04:002010-10-30T11:05:13.487-04:00Bad News...Last week I found out my turntable was busted (ie. it stopped recording). I don't have an audiophile rig I just used a USB flash drive turntable which audiophiles turn their nose up at. After learning about vinyl and sound over these past couple of years I understand why.

So I read reviews about this particular model that I have and people have had worse problems, but for me a dead USB is a dealbreaker. I went back to the store where I got it yesterday and the guy WHO SOLD IT to me still works there and he's a manager now. I say that he sold it because if it weren't for his testimony against the model I really wanted (a vintage expensive looking lame duck model) I wouldn't have gotten this one instead. He made a generous offer as to what he could do to fix the situation as my model is discontinued (ie. trade for the current model). The newer one(s) don't even have the features mine has (USB, SD card, radio, speakers).

They're really cheapin out on these! He told me it's like that across the board (1-year warranties). Stuff isn't made to last. I know people have the same turntable for like 20 years so... I've learned a lesson. I passed on his offer. He was disappointed that he couldn't make things right, but I respect that he tried and we negotiated. It is a business after all and there are rules.

So when I do get a new turntable I know how to go about it and what to get this time. Forget that flash drive stuff. I read about a cool converter that can make any analog table digital. That's the route I'll go.Hranguehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12161409021859688113noreply@blogger.com17tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7734480456467629666.post-23201694220120164222010-09-10T16:11:00.001-04:002010-09-11T13:46:43.576-04:00Xihong Library Finale: The Eagle EpitaphFinally! Right? It's been over a year since the last update and I'm ready to hang it up... ready to sell my records... ready to pack away these DVDs. I've solved some of the great mysteries of Shaw Bros music. I've reached many milestones as to what I was looking for. Out of the 100's I've found there's literally a handful I still care about finding, but they're not out there (at this moment).

These tracks mean different things to different people. I know that "WOW" feeling. It can be addictive. It's gotten to the point where I'm pretty much sick of looking. My brain is scrambled. Everything sounds the same. Stuff I've never even heard before sounds like I heard it already.

Aside from some of the rarest hardcore Shaw Bros music, I've also included some re-rips of previous tracks in better quality. I didn't quite meet my goal of 100 tracks but you have to admit, I tried damn hard.

And a special thanks to...

Jacques - Edouard Michael expert! We teamed up on tracking down a MOST ELUSIVE record. The Edouard Michael sound was picked up by Derek Laren and Spencer Nakin and we've covered all bases. Nakin was the missing link all this time. Anything else sounding similar is pure coincidence. Thanks for going above and beyond the extra mile my French friend.

Andrea - The most righteous trader I've had the pleasure of dealing with. It was like the laws of attraction at work. The tracks I was looking for all along ended up falling right into my lap. Your timing could not have been any better. Thanks for putting my mind at ease. I still owe you my Italian friend.Hranguehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12161409021859688113noreply@blogger.com17tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7734480456467629666.post-300798849060517452010-08-31T20:37:00.000-04:002010-08-31T20:37:47.226-04:00Requests...I don't ask for much. I understand that some of these records out here have quite a bounty on them so I don't believe in going around just asking for all the best stuff out. I got killed by an auction sniper this morning. I'm not mad. It's all in the game. That's my plight of bidding USD against GBP. I've CRUSHED many a bidder, but I go back to school this week (today actually) and can't afford to gamble those necessary funds like I normally would.

A record that I'm sure has some good Shaw Bros sounds has fallen by the way side. I've been looking for it about a year and even before that I'd never seen it listed. I'm talking about...

DWLP3022

AND (more recently)

DWLP3036

I'm iffy about the second one. I've passed it up 2 or 3 times, but it wasn't until recently that I saw a back cover. Otherwise, I'm waiting for one more record to come in the mail and then the Xihong finale goes up. If you'd like to help me out please do so... ASAP! Should you come along later it's still appreciated. Thank you.
If I had to rename this one I'd call it "Fodder for Witchdoctors." When I listen I picture everything from cooking bodies, to creepy sideshows, to torture devices, to long and grimy haunted hallways. I love it! A xylophone never sounded so good. Almost exactly a year ago I used one of these tracks (my favorite... Geant) on a past comp... Intrigue Betrayal and Espionage.
Overall, Philospohale belongs to what I consider "the alternate group" on the Sylvester label. Just like how DW had composers who always worked together (Tilsley, Trombey, Papworth, Reno, Arvay, Laren, Towren, Slaney, etc.) during the golden age Sylvester had theirs too (Vladimir Cosma, Robert Hermel, Patrice Sciortino, Claude Vasori and more ...all of which switched between these 2 labels and Musique Pour L'image. It's a shame I don't have more like it... or do I?Hranguehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12161409021859688113noreply@blogger.com7
